Overview of Parenting Plans

A parenting plan is a comprehensive document that states how a child will be raised, when the child will be with each parent, how decisions concerning the child will be made, and financial obligations.

Building a Successful Parenting Plan for Children by Nancy Porter-Thal MS, LMHC, CDM, provides the information needed to enable parents to develop a plan that fits their family’s needs while keeping the "best interest of the children" in focus.

The workbook covers the major categories required in a parenting plan and presents situations that will require careful consideration before a plan is finalized. The parenting plan workbook gives you the tools you need to create your own plan with the other parent, attorney or appropriate person.
