Manager Certification Exam

Division of Hotels and Restaurants
Florida Statute 509.039 requires certification of all food service managers who are responsible for the storage preparation, display, or serving foods to the public. Must have at least one certified manager on duty at all times. Managers have 90 days in which to successfully pass the required exam after hire date.

Division of Food Safety
Section 5k-4.021, Florida Administrative Code, requires all food establishments, including mobile vendors, licensed by the Department, must have a certified manager.

Employee Training

All food service employees of establishments that are licensed by the State of Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Division of Hotels and Restaurants, need to have the Florida Safe Foods Certification.

Florida Statute 509.049 requires all food service employees who are involved in preparation, storage, or presentation of foods in regulated establishments to be trained and certified by an approved provider in the food safety standards adopted by the state. Certificates issued under these programs remain valid for three years.

All employees must complete a basic certification program from an approved provider within the first 60 days of employment. Certifed Managers may use our video kit to train your employees and issue your own certificates.
